Cozy trattoria in the Seaport area. Nice decor with exposed bricks and various old Italian tchotchke.
Seems to be a popular spot even in off pick tourist season.
My spaghetti carbonara was good.
The service is cold and unfriendly, unfortunately.

Authentic Italian with great service.
Popped in while on the way to ice skate at around 8PM. Asked if they could accommodate 7 of us within an hour or so. Even though the place was very busy, they said yes.
When we returned, we choose to dine outside in their enclosed outdoor space. It was quiet and cozy, and the electronic candlesticks added to the ambiance.
The food was flavorful and amazing! I had the Linguine alla Scoglio which I recommend. The chicken dish was great too. We all enjoyed our meals and experience.
The waitress was knowledgeable about the food and knew her wine selection. By the way, they only serve beer and wine.
Couldn’t get over how delicious the food tastes. Definitely going back!

The food is good from here, but the service is bad. The waitress has a different service attitude between my table and the other table. She never introduced anything about the menu. She took our order and then never came back to ask us if we needed anything or food tasting. I don't feel I get any service, she only takes the order and gives us the bill. I still gave 15% tips, just for the food.

A very authentic Italian restaurant in the South Seaport area in downtown Manhattan. Food is great, service is fast, and restroom is big and well maintained. I recommend you make a reservation in advance since the restaurant is not so big and is very crowded. Desserts are amazing and it's a must-have!!

Lunch on Friday al fresco at il Brigante on a quiet side street near South Street Seaport.
We started with the arancine. For main courses we had gnocchi alla Sorrentina, fettuccine Bolognese, and spinach fettuccine with truffles, mushrooms and tomatoes, along with a crisp Vermentino.
It was a long, leisurely and delicious lunch!

This place is very special to me.
I’ve been here many times and I’ve never left disappointed — I’ve loved every single visit.
From the moment you walk in, they make you feel at home, like part of the family.
The food is always delicious, made with fresh ingredients, and you can truly feel the effort, dedication, and love the chefs put into every dish.
The managers and the entire team always welcome guests with a smile and incredible kindness, making every visit a warm and genuine experience.
Everyone I’ve recommended this restaurant to has loved it, and that says everything.
Without a doubt, this is my favorite restaurant in NYC. For me, it’s not just a restaurant, it’s a home. Thank you to the whole team for so much care!!!✨🫶🏻

Il Brigante is a fantastic Italian gem tucked away in the historic South Street Seaport. It's the kind of place that feels both cozy and sophisticated, perfect for a night out. The food was absolutely delicious—I'm still thinking about the authentic flavors and quality of the ingredients. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, from the pasta to the perfect balance of spices in their sauces.
What really sealed the deal for me, though, were the cocktails. They were expertly crafted and paired beautifully with our meal, enhancing every bite. It’s clear the mixologists put a lot of thought into their creations. The ambiance of the restaurant itself is a huge part of the experience. The low lighting gives the place a warm, intimate feel, creating a true "vibe" that makes you want to linger and enjoy the evening.
The service was also top-notch, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff that made us feel right at home. It's not just a restaurant; it's a complete dining experience that transports you with its authentic food and captivating atmosphere. I would highly recommend Il Brigante to anyone looking for a memorable meal with great drinks in a truly special setting.

Great food and service but it’s kind of spoiled by how packed the place can get. At peak hours you will literally be elbow to elbow with guests at another table because the space is small. I think the whole place would be better served by dropping 20-25% of the tables and just up prices by whatever amount would offset the losses. The quality of the food and recipes would still ‘draw’ people!
