Located at 686 5th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215, Luigi's Pizza stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of traditional Italian-American culinary craftsmanship. In a neighborhood known for its vibrant food scene and deep-rooted community ties, our establishment serves as a gathering place for those who appreciate the simple, honest pleasure of a well-made pie. We believe that great pizza begins with respect for the process, utilizing time-honored techniques that have been passed down through generations. Whether you are a local resident looking for a reliable neighborhood staple or a visitor exploring the unique character of Brooklyn, we invite you to experience the warmth and dedication that define our kitchen.
Our approach to food is centered on the belief that quality ingredients and patience are the most essential components of any recipe. We do not believe in shortcuts; instead, we focus on the subtle nuances of dough fermentation, the balance of acidity in our tomato sauce, and the precise heat required to achieve the perfect crust. This commitment to consistency ensures that every slice reflects the standards we set for ourselves when we first opened our doors. By maintaining a focus on these fundamental elements, we have cultivated a space where the focus remains entirely on the flavor and the experience of sharing a meal with friends and family.
The atmosphere at Luigi's Pizza is designed to be welcoming and unpretentious. We understand that pizza is more than just a convenient meal; it is a cultural touchstone that brings people together. Our dining environment is crafted to reflect the spirit of Brooklyn—dynamic, authentic, and deeply connected to its surroundings. We take pride in being a part of the 5th Avenue corridor, contributing to the local tapestry that makes this part of New York City so distinctive. Every member of our team is dedicated to ensuring that your visit is comfortable, efficient, and enjoyable, allowing you to focus on the food and the company you keep.
What Sets Our Kitchen Apart
Commitment to Traditional Methods: We prioritize classic preparation techniques, ensuring that our dough is handled with care and allowed to develop its flavor profile naturally before it ever touches the oven.
Focus on Ingredient Integrity: We source components that meet our rigorous standards for quality, believing that the best results come from using fresh, reliable products that speak for themselves.
Community-Centric Philosophy: Being situated in Brooklyn means we are part of a neighborhood that values authenticity; we strive to be a consistent, dependable presence for our neighbors and guests alike.
Attention to Detail: From the temperature of our ovens to the precise timing of each bake, we monitor every step of the process to ensure that the final product meets our expectations for texture, taste, and overall satisfaction.
Beyond the technical aspects of our cooking, we are driven by a genuine passion for the craft. We recognize that in a city with countless dining options, the choice to visit us is one we do not take for granted. Our team works diligently to maintain a clean, organized, and friendly environment where every guest feels valued. We are proud to serve the Brooklyn community and look forward to sharing our passion for pizza with you, one slice at a time. Thank you for supporting local businesses and for allowing us to be a part of your dining experience in New York City.

Must stop when in the city and worth the trip. Pizza was amazing and the inside is a time capsule to simpler times. Not much has changed over the last 50 years including the pans, cash register and much more and I love that. A+ More

We tried the regular one with just cheese and tomato (margarita), which was very good,
and the pepperoni one, which in my opinion could have better quality pepperoni, hence the one-star deduction.

Made a 3+ hour drive specifically to Luigis for my first ever true NY Style Slice. This place was awesome, it was nostalgic and welcoming. Talking to Gio was awesome, he knows pizza and has true passion for what he does day in and day out. The pizza was amazing, Gio says the sauce is where its at and I would agree. Theres plenty of sauce with just the right amount of cheese on a well fermented and crispy crust. The fresh mozzarella slice with the basil/oil drizzle was awesome as well. I had a nice conversation with Gio about Pizza and he was very Hospitable. I wish them the best and would recommend Luigis to everyone! They have a new dining room next door as well. 10/10

We did the tourist thing, and visited Luigi's because we'd seen it on TV. Often, the reality isn't what you expect.
In the case of Luigi's we got everything we hoped for, and more: a warm welcome and a slice (or four) of pizza made with love and attention.
The whole family seem to be busy working, keeping the long line of customers fed and happy, and I loved being handed my pizza by the lady behind the counter with the words "they ya go, honey, enjoy!". You could feel the love they put into feeding people.
We may never get the chance to visit New York again, but if we do, we're going for a slice at Luigi's!

✨ While searching for dining options near Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, I stumbled upon Luigi’s Pizza. After poring over numerous glowing reviews on Google Maps, I decided to give it a try. And it was an excellent choice.
The slices are served on metal trays, and from the very first bite, I was hooked. There’s something truly special about that perfect crisp crust, tangy sauce, and molten cheese.
It’s fascinating that this family-owned gem has been a neighborhood staple since 1973, preserving authentic traditions across generations.
In my opinion, Luigi’s serves some of the finest pizza in all of New York City. If you’re craving quintessential classic NYC-style slices, this is the spot.
I highly recommend it, especially for first-time visitors to the city. Note that it’s a cash-only establishment, which only adds to its charming old-school vibe.

Luigi’s Pizza — Brooklyn
By far the best slices I had all day. I went in planning to order just a cheese slice, but when I saw a Sicilian coming out of the oven, I had to ask what it was. The woman at the counter confirmed it was Sicilian, and I immediately added one to my order — a decision I didn’t regret for a second.
Both slices were excellent. The cheese slice earns an 8.3/10, and the Sicilian comes in at an 8.1/10. Neither slice was greasy at all, and the crunch was outstanding — the kind of crisp that would probably register on a Richter scale.
Luigi’s is cash only, which some people don’t love, but I respect it. I’m a cash-is-king guy, and it fits the old-school vibe. The dining room has a few tables, though not many, and it looks like they may be expanding. I took my slices to go and ate outside on a stone slab, admiring the classic Luigi’s neon sign — a really nice touch for a neighborhood pizzeria.
This place is a high recommendation. Not only was it the best slice of the day, it’s easily my second-favorite pizza spot in all of New York City. If you’re in Brooklyn, Luigi’s is a must-stop.

Classic spot. Watched his other vids before the review. Gio was in there working his butt off and had a conversation with me the whole time about brazilian steak spots in Elizabeth NJ.
Go at least once. Got a fresh mozz pie and a half plain half sausage and onion. Both were very good.

Came here after watching countless IG vids and it exceeded the hype. Gio was made our pies, half pepperoni regular and a Sicilian. Both were exceptional! While we were enjoying these, Gio sent a Grandma slice, thoughtfully cut into 3 pieces (there were 3 of us) and man, it was outstanding. He engaged us to make sure we enjoyed it and then he sent a margherita slice, again cut into 3s for us to sample. Another outstanding pizza slice!
Words can't do justice just how awesome the entire experience was. Go here and get the pizza!

Luigi's Pizza is one of those classic Brooklyn spots that just gets it right. The crust really stood out super flavorful with a nice crisp bite that holds up perfectly. The sauce was just as good, rich and well seasoned without overpowering the slice. Simple, well executed pizza that reminds you why places like this stay around. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area
