Great Pizza, New Haven style. Very delicious, especially the crust. The beer they make is phenomenal, especially their Pale Ale "The Weight".

Never disappoints! Easily best thin crust in Chicago and within a 1000 miles! Had white clam and bacon and a pepperoni. Bacon & onion. So Delicious! Fantastic beer too! And they cut the pizza in pie shape, as God intended! More

As a native Chicagoan (lived there 50 years before moving on), I have strong opinions about pizza. I'm old enough to remember old fashioned 1970s deep dish pizza, and the 1990s emergence of the now more popular tavern style pizza. And I … More

If you’re on the hunt for outstanding pizza in a lively atmosphere, Piece Brewery is a must! Visited on a Friday night, and let me tell you, this place was packed—a clear sign that something special was happening here. We ordered the Hot Doug’s Atomic Sausage Pizza, and from the first bite, we knew we’d hit the jackpot. But we didn’t see what a night and experience was going to be with the food!
This red pizza features a thin, crispy crust that’s both light and perfectly sturdy, giving each slice an incredible base for flavor. The pepper jack cheese melted smoothly over the crust, bringing a subtle spicy creaminess that paired beautifully with the toppings. The caramelized onions added a sweet depth that balanced out the heat, while Hot Doug’s famous Atomic Sausage was simply next-level. Juicy and bursting with spices, this sausage was the real star—it packed a punch of bold, unique flavors that I haven’t tasted anywhere else. Every ingredient was placed with precision, creating a beautifully layered experience in every bite.
Piece Brewery nails the thin crust game and takes pizza to new heights with unique, crave-worthy flavors. Even with the crowd, the service was on point and efficient. This place is an absolute gem, and I can’t wait to return!

I love this spot!! Hot Doug’s Atomic Pizza will change your life! All their New Haven style thin crust crispy pizza is unreal good and they offer larger sizes perfect for sharing.
Location seems great with parking being a bit tricky to find close by but paid street parking is an option and there’s a good amount of bars and restaurants nearby to also walk to.
Then there’s the award winning beer they consistently produce in house. Pictured is the Black Rider Oatmeal Stout which was delicious but they do every style well whether it be an ipa, lager, or Belgian.
If you haven’t stopped here and pizza is your thing, this is a must visit!

I’ve lived in Chicago for 13 years and obviously we’re known for our pizza but Piece stands above the rest. IT’S THE BEST PIZZA IN CHICAGO. Think if tavern style za and NYC style za had a baby. That’s how I would describe New Haven style pizza. They cook it perfectly so it’s not soggy but it’s still a little crispy. The crust is so good. I’m not a big sausage guy but I do recommend the Hot Automatic Doug’s pizza. Oh and they brew their own beer. The beer is incredible. Grab The Weight. It pairs so well with the za.

Ordered a 1/2 1/2 Hot Doug’s and Veggie Pizza (to be healthy of course). While it was just the two of us we got a large because it was just a few more bucks. Turns out the sizes match because there was enough pizza leftover for another person or two; would recommend if you want leftovers like us.
The pizza itself was awesome, flavorful and delicious, always get Hot Doug’s!Paired with their brews and it brought the meal together! The wait staff were busy working but were always attentive and really made our night. The place is loud (especially if you sat next to kids/babes) but it makes sense because the pizza is great for families, couples, and everyone in-between.
Would come again and be completely stuffed with good pizza!

Nice atmosphere to watch sports. Could definitely see this place being packed with nicer weather outside.
Ordered the hot Doug’s atomic pizza. I was intrigued with this as I’ve never had pepper jack cheese on my pizza but was quickly disappointed as I couldn’t really taste it. The sausage and onions were alright. Crust was very floppy and the entire pie was drenched in grease. Also, I chuckled a little with how uneven these slices were.
While the pizza wasn’t the best, the carrot cake was excellent. The cake was so moist and light. Also, the nuts and raisins were sparse which I prefer in my carrot cake. Finally, the cream cheese frosting was good but there wasn’t enough.
Good atmosphere and dessert, not so good pizza.

Excellent place with really good pizza and a some really nice beers!
Second time visiting this place but the first time that i try their pizza, and it really lived up to my expectations!
The brewery brew some really good pilsners. My favourite is the Door Code, a german pilsner. But also The Weight (pale ale), Top Heavy Hefeweizen and O'Rourken for the Weekend (Dortmund lager) are exceptionally good!
Its well worth to visit this place and the area too!

Chicago is rising (or maybe already at the top) as far as a pizza town. We can’t forget about a mainstay like Piece that truly does New Haven style. And they brew great beer, too.

My order was carry out. Very very disappointed in their pizza. Had high hopes of great Chicago pizza but his was far from it. The pizza had a decent taste for pepperoni and sausage, but the pizza was SUPER greasy. The cheese didn’t even cover all of the pizza to the crust. Each time I picked up a slice, the toppings slid off the crust. Utter bullshit! I paid $40 for medium pizza that was super disappointing. I only chose this place because some wicker park locals recommended it. But sad to say I won’t be back. Next time I’ll follow my gut and find true Chicago thin crust pizza. This place gets a 1 out of 10

I’m sorry to inform others of this but I do feel other patrons need to know about the food quality and cleanliness here. Ordered in food for my staff and found a large live bug in the food. Thank goodness if was before we consumed it but we were utterly disgusted and threw everything away bc we couldn’t trust the cleanliness of the food. Please wash and double check the items before serving.

I grew up in East Haven, Ct currently live in Orlando Florida and one of the best pizzas I have ever had has been here at piece pizza in Chicago. Dare I say better than the originator of new haven style pizza frank pepes apizza. I tried deep dish I tried tavern style and this place just hits the spot. Also add on that they have really great beer and this is truly a win. Should I ever find myself back in Chicago I will be here.

Piece Pizza: Where our 16-year love story started, and honestly, the pizza is still the hottest thing here. Back in Chicago for our anniversary, and the vibe is still immaculate. Incredible service, and the spinach, tomato dip is a MUST. Just a warning: these pizzas are NOT playing around. The "medium" is a mountain of deliciousness. Could've gotten a small, but hey, leftovers for breakfast! We’ll be back much sooner next time. See you then. 🍕❤️
