Great traditional korean food with tasty Banchan. Korean soul food restaurant. Nothing fancy. Just good food with good service. Inside the restaurant smells a little funky but besides that it was a overall great korean food experience. Highly recommend if you dont mind "hole in the wall" type of restaurant with good food. Was waiting for the food for a long time. Asked about it, and they told me that they burned my food, so they were making it again. After that, they gave me the burned fish and hid it underneath. When I told them, they told me to eat the burned one. More

Great Korean find. There were some unusual options for Korean food in the US, such as duck soup; everything tasted very authentic and delicious. The restaurant is actually named after their staple dish, a Korean ox bone soup, that I definitely recommend. Will be back!

You can enjoy home-made authentic Korean dishes here. Chenguk jang and Dogani Seolrongtang are really genuine and delicious. Side dishes are also fantastic. Dumblings made by hands are unbelievablely fresh. More

Manna was a little hard to find (entrance on south side of Empire Szechwan building). The food was amazing! I had the Dok Sot Bi Bim Bob. The rice on bottom was crispy from the hour stone bowl. Highly recommend!

So happy finding this place. We had the kimchi sujebi and seolleongtang this visit. Both were very well prepared and hit the spot. The restaurant was busy when we visited and the service was great. Small but homey. We live in the city but will make the trip back soon. More

This restaurant is a family owned business and you will get a homie feeling. Great service and food is amazingly good. I would recommend the Bimbipop but get it served with a hot stone we ordered just a plate and it was bit cold. But other than that it was great experience. More

I recently visited this Korean restaurant, and everything I tried was absolutely delicious! The pork bone soup (Gamjatang) was rich and flavorful, with tender meat that fell right off the bone. The spicy beef soup (Yukgaejang) had the perfect balance of spice and depth — it was comforting and hearty, especially on a cold day.
But what really stood out to me were the dumplings — they were perfectly made, with a soft, chewy skin and a savory filling that tasted homemade. I also loved the Korean pancake (Pajeon) — crispy on the outside, soft inside, and full of fresh green onions.
Overall, every dish felt authentic and made with care. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Korean food or wants to try something truly satisfying!

This place was recommended by a person born in Korea and still eating grandparents' cooked food at home so I knew it was going to be authentic. That said while tasty it was good and not great. The squid pancake was almost burnt on both sides in one spot so maybe the heat distribution needs to be checked? It was tasty. My friend complained the squid was a bit tough but maybe that's the way it should be served? The dumplings were good although (again not sure it should be tasting like this) the dough seemed rubbery while stuffing was yummy. The side dishes were awesome and we will definitely go back to try other dishes!

Absolutely delicious authentic and traditional korean food. The owners are extremely friendly, I keep coming back for their amazing soy bean soup and seafood pancake. Been coming here for 10 yrs now. Even though I have moved to another city, whenever I come back to chicago area, i’d often make the drive to Manna for a nice nostalgic meal. Their menu is not big but i’ve tried everything on the menu and they’re all yummy.
I would definitely recommend this place for anyone that loves korean food and want a traditional meal like its cooked by your mother.

As a Korean who lived in Chicago for over 20 years and later became a naturalized U.S. citizen, I can say this clearly: this place is the real deal.
The food is exceptionally clean and well-balanced, made with high-quality ingredients and thoughtful seasoning. Nothing feels rushed or overly processed the flavors are subtle, honest, and comforting.
What impressed me most was that my in-laws, who recently came from Korea, said this place was better than many well-known restaurants back home. During their few weeks in the U.S., they liked it so much that we came back multiple times.
If you prefer bold, heavy, or highly seasoned flavors, this might feel a bit mild especially for younger diners who enjoy stronger tastes. But if you appreciate carefully prepared, wholesome food made with sincerity, this is absolutely a place worth visiting.
Highly recommended for anyone who values quality, balance, and genuinely good cooking.
