My husband and I absolutely loved everything. We started with 2 appetizers. Both the duck wings and cheese dip which were so delicious. The wings were crispy and the sauce took the taste over the top. The Italian cheese dip was simply incredible with the perfectly toasted garlic bread. Our lunch entrees were the salmon and the shrimp with scallops which were seasoned and cooked beautifully. Both entrees came with crisp broccoli and Jasmine rice which were simply delicious. Then, we decided to share the caramel apple cake dessert. It was soooo good and worth every calorie. The cake was not too sweet and well balanced with the cinnamon ice cream. This was our first visit; but, it certainly will not be our last. Wonderful service also from our server, Bri. She was very attentive and kind.

The food was just okay but the service was very poor. We called ahead to say we were coming with a child and a baby — someone could have easily mentioned that there’s no high chair. Upon arrival, the hostess refused to move us to a booth, … More

I've had the pleasure of dining at Northside Bistro several times as well as attending a wine pairing dinner. Everything I’ve eaten has exceeded my expectations - in quality, quantity and presentation. Chef John is meticulous and clearly cooks from the heart. His creations are very unique. The staff is well trained and attentive. The prices are on point with each menu item. I highly recommend this bistro both for lunch and dinner.

Top tier restaurant that serves exceptional fine dining. We started out with the Octopus Bravas which was perfectly charred. Then our main entrees: The Short Ribs served with truffled duchesse potatoes, Hashtag Tuna Sashimi grade brushed with teriyaki and ginger glaze, Beef Wellington cooked to perfection, Cedar Plank Salmon with butternut squash, and a delectable Potato Gnocchi and Beef Tenderloin dish. Yes! We tried to eat the entire restaurant! Our waitress, Clea was great! Northside Bistro definitely impresses!

Popped in for a nice dinner and was blown away by not only the food, but the drinks and amazing service as well. We shared several appetizers - the stuffed mushrooms, meatballs and onion soup and every single one of them was a 10/10 - not a single bite left! For the main course we shared the gnocchi and beef tenderloin, another 10/10. From the bar, I highly recommend the old fashioned.
The atmosphere was modern, inviting and comfortable without being stuffy at all. We will be back soon to try the Beef Wellington, if we don’t break down and get the gnocchi again!

My wife had attended a work gathering at this restaurant. She mentioned we should give it a try as a date night. Wife made reservations for a Saturday at 6. We were greeted and sat at a both fairly quick. Our waitress was Anna Grace. Cant forget the name or terrible personality. She did great getting our order quickly by rushing the order for stater and main course. I felt like she wanted us to eat quickly and leave. I, as a LEGAL Hispanic American felt like I was unwanted there. My wife is full American from North Carolina. She was treated differently. She was treat like an unwanted guest just like myself. With the way our country is, I've never felt racially discriminated like at this restaurant. Would I return. No! If you don't look like Trump or a white American i wouldn't recommend this place. Food was okay for the price as well. Wife and i had a beef wellington. The spinach was cold. Had to ask for a substitute. The Old Fashion was the only thing wife and I enjoyed. The oyster starter was decent. Oyster were very small. The calamari was 9 out of 10. Over all, I would not recommend for the price or service.

Had dinner here last night for the 1st time. It was a great experience. We had reservations so we got seated quickly. Food was delicious, waitress was very nice and attentive. My husband got the special pan seared sea bass and said it was amazing.
(Only negatives are Music was a bit loud and it was hard to hear the conversation and they say us near the front door so it was a bit cold when the door opened).

Northside has been one of our favorite local restaurants for a couple of years. The service has always been exceptional and the food is fresh. The chef has always been accomodating to food allergies as well. Our most recent experience left something to be desired, unfortunately. Our server appeared to be new and very unfamiliar with the menu. She showed signs of annoyance with us throughout our visit and was overall unpleasant. The bartender was also clearly inexperienced because a classic bourbon cocktail, an old fashioned, was made with soda water! Simply stated, it was awful. The octopus has always been hit or miss which is unfortunate. But when it is cooked correctly, it's devine. On our recent visit, it was severely overcooked and burnt which resulted in a rubbery/chewy texture. When the server returned it to the kitchen, we watched the interaction with the chef and he was clearly offended and disagreed with our assessment of his octopus dish. But another one was prepared and delivered to our table and was appetizing. We are familiar with the owner of Northside and have spoken with him on many occassions - very nice guy. However, on this recent visit on a slow weeknight, we observed him walking around the empty restaurant but he never once approached our table. When a drink and an appetizer is returned, it's proper for a manager, or owner in this case, to visit the table. But that did not happen. On a positive note, our main courses were made to perfection and enjoyed by everyone. Northside was always at the top of our list when dining out, but after this recent experience, it will be awhile before we return.

I ordered the duck wings and was extremely disappointed. They were burnt to a crisp, dry, and looked old — like they’d been sitting out for hours. To make matters worse, they didn’t even include the sauce they were supposed to come with. This was my first visit, and it will definitely be my last.

I had the rib steak tacos. They were so so good. Are every bite. Comes with chips and salsa. Even had room for bread pudding. That was yummy too. With a Stella, my total was 37 bucks, but like I said super good, and I'm so picky about steak. It was juicy and melted in my mouth.

**Restaurant Review: Northside Bistro**
Northside Bistro is a fantastic addition to the North Raleigh dining scene, offering an upscale yet welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether it’s a special occasion or a casual evening out, the ambiance strikes the perfect balance between refined and relaxed.
When we visited, the restaurant was bustling with activity—a clear sign of its popularity. Despite being busy, the food arrived promptly without any delays, which was impressive. It’s evident that the kitchen and staff work seamlessly to maintain a high standard of service even during peak hours.
The food itself was exceptional. From the warm, freshly baked bread to the decadent desserts, everything was a delight. The Caesar salad was a surprising highlight, with a dressing that stood out as one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The Beef Wellington was another standout, perfectly prepared with tender, flavorful meat encased in a flaky, golden crust. Every dish was well-crafted and full of flavor, making it clear that quality and attention to detail are top priorities.
The service was another high point. Friendly and attentive without being overbearing, the staff ensured we had everything we needed and checked in at just the right moments. Even with a full house, the team delivered a smooth and enjoyable dining experience.
While the prices lean toward the higher side, the value is undeniable. My family and I left feeling not just satisfied but genuinely happy. Northside Bistro goes beyond serving great food—it creates a memorable experience that makes you want to return.
If you’re looking for a place with delicious food, excellent service, and a welcoming vibe, Northside Bistro is a top choice in North Raleigh. It’s well worth a visit.
