The atmosphere is very comfortable and like a homecoming from the memory right at the entrance. This is obviously a favorite place for the people; locals from the tristate area come here to have fun at the lively events and get an authentic taste of their heritage. To put it simple, the food is great. The Empanadas are a must-try, a touch of crispness, savory, and perfectly filled. However, the Pastel de Choclo ought to be the flam of the lantern; it is delicious, filling, and absolutely "to die for." They all serve warm, made with love, and respect the tradition of Chilean food. The eatery is thus complemented by the great team. The service at Zapallar is polite, real friendly, and very warm. They treat you like a family member right from the first moment they see you at the door If you want authentic Chilean food, a lively community vibe, and food that is really good for your soul then you must go to Zapallar. went on a Sunday. street parking meters are free. food was delicious. we tried the pastel de chocolo and humitas. service was fantastic. loved, loved the warm bread. staff is very attentive. music was eclectic (which I liked). pisco sour was yummy. prices reasonable considering some Chilean dishes can be elaborate to make. I highly recommend this restaurant. I was a bit surprised when realized our check came with an added 20% tip. We were going to leave more but after seeing that we changed our minds. We’re Chilean and this restaurant is a big part of our lives. The wait staff is kind and polite, the portions are generous, and the food is wonderful. Try out their $12 lunch special with an appetizer, “plato de fondo”, and a drink. They also have amazing desserts.
