We had a great experience with Saturday brunch. Our group had the frittata, egg sandwich, steak and eggs, eggs Benedict and the sheep’s milk ricotta and crostini. It was all excellent. Oh and the Bloody Mary’s were classic!

This restaurant has a great vibe and an open kitchen which creates a really cool vibe.
We started with the Steak Tartare and the Insalata D’Andrea, and they were both perfect. The steak tartare was truly amazing. I loved the egg on it. However, I feel like bacon is not necessary.
For the main courses, we had the Scallops and the Duck Arrosto. The scallops were unbeatably good. They match perfectly with the lentils. It is such a good dish and definitely our favorite; the duck was good, but I think the meat could have been more tender. I also tried the Cappelletti Fizz cocktail, and it was really well-balanced. I really liked it, and I also tried the Vesper In Coat Tails. It was amazing but very strong. My partner loved it!
Finally, for dessert, we ordered the Lemon Panna Cotta and it was very tasty.
The service was very good, the staff were always very attentive 🙏🏻 It’s a great place with really nice food. I wouldn’t use it for a first date tho, because I feel like it can be very loud, so it’s hard to talk.

What an amazing evening! I’ve had the pleasure of dining at this old New York gem a couple of times over the last few months, and Caiden at the bar has made it an extraordinary experience, even feel at home. I first came to Laconda with my family in 2012 for a birthday and had an amazing dinner. Now over 10 years later they still have some of the best Italian food, service, and drinks in the city. Caiden got me up to speed on the menu changes, and helped make this celebration unforgettable. Starting off with the champagne coutier and sheep’s milk ricotta— this combo will leave you dreaming about it for weeks to come. Other apps worth recommending are the exquisite (melt in your mouth) wagyu steak tartare and the perfectly balanced insalata Andrea. All of the mains are great, but Locanda prepares pasta like it’s Italy. Grandmas ravioli are delightful, although I wish it came with more sauce, and the lamb ragu papardelle is my favorite. Rich, delightful, creamy, I thought I was already full but devoured the whole plate. The prime NY Strip steak is fine but I’d recommend apps and pastas route to get the most out of the experience. I also must commend Caiden the bartender, we had the best espresso martinis of our lives with their home style creamy tiramisu for dessert. Thank you Locanda for holding what feels like golden age New York, with delicious food, amazing drinks, and undeniable service. Be back soon!

This place is a gem, a true delight for any day, whether it’s sunny, rainy, or anything in between. I love the warm atmosphere and the charm of the restaurant. The service is quick, and the food is consistently delicious. I highly recommend everything on the menu: pasta, fish, steak, and all the starters are our favourites. Especially the beef tartare is absolutely outstanding!

At first I thought with the name it would be Spanish, but turns out it's an Italian spot in Greenwich. The appetizers were solid - the toasted bread with what looked like eggplant or wild mushroom (I'll ask the guy who ordered) was fantastic, tasty and a good treat.
The lamb meatball sliders were top heavy and ok. Regular sliders probably would've been the way to go. Steak tartare was good. Gabagool and grana was capicola and and a hard cheese which was ok, but not easy to eat - heavy/oily.
The pappardelle with lamb bolognese was ok, overly salty - ended up eating most of the pasta (some of the sheets stuck together, though, so that wasn't edible), and leaving much of the lamb bolognese (greasy, but better than the meatball sliders).
Good thing - service was quick and efficient and knowing the business nearby (Citi) they asked us how fast we needed to be out - and they kept us mostly on-time, nicely enough.
Decor inside was dark woods and bottles all over of liquor and wine. Bathrooms downstairs. They have some private dining spaces and they were packed at lunchtime on a Wednesday.

Walking into Locanda Verde in 2025 feels a bit like attending a high school reunion for the Cool Kids of 2009. The volume is still turned up to eleven, the room is still packed with the sort of energetic, golden-hued crowd that suggests something important is happening, and the ghost of Robert De Niro’s patronage still hovers in the rafters like a guardian angel of reservations.
But if the ambiance is still partying like it’s the Obama administration, the food seems to be suffering from a bit of a hangover.
We arrived ready to worship at the altar of Chef Andrew Carmellini’s urban Italian temple. And to be fair, the Sheep’s Milk Ricotta remains the restaurant’s security blanket. Served with that burnt orange toast, it is creamy, fluffy, and reliable—a reminder of why this place became a landmark to begin with. The Lamb Meatball Sliders also did their job: bite-sized punches of flavor that pair perfectly with a loud conversation and a glass of Nebbiolo.
However, once we moved past the "greatest hits" appetizers, the cracks in the veneer began to show.
The Lamb Chops Scottadito were the culinary equivalent of a shrug. For a dish whose name translates to "burned fingers" (implying they are so delicious you can't wait to grab them), these were safely fork-and-knife territory. They arrived looking uninspired, accompanied by a small, lonely triangle of what the menu calls "chickpea panelle" but what the palate registers as "sad, dry polenta." It felt like a dish going through the motions.
Similarly, the Black Shells Frutti di Mare—squid ink pasta that should smell like the ocean in the best way—missed the mark. You want "briny and bright"; we got "tired and murky." When seafood doesn't feel 100% fresh in a place charging Tribeca rents, the illusion of luxury dissolves pretty quickly.
We rounded things out with the Fire-Roasted Garlic Chicken and the Gnocchi, both of which were… fine. And that’s the problem. In a city where Italian dining is a blood sport, "fine" is the first step toward irrelevance.
The Verdict:
Locanda Verde has undeniably lost some of its luster. It is currently a restaurant coasting on its location and its legacy. If you want to feel the pulse of the city, drink good wine, and shout over the din in a beautiful room, it’s still a contender. But if you’re looking for a meal that haunts your dreams? You might be a decade too late.
